sponsors & KIT
Let’s be honest – after 3 months on a paddleboard and 5 months hiking – we wanted to get the cycle completed withing a year. Funds were tight and time pressing with other commitments coming up from mid May.
After finishing the hike on 5 April 2022, it meant one thing. A fast turnaround and to get out there to see if we could cycle back.
We would have loved top of the range touring bikes, but we had to make do with Dave’s old Mountain Bike and a borrowed Hybrid bike from one of Sophie’s friends (Thank you Nick – you’re a godsend).
We pinched, borrowed and stole where we could – thank you Jeanette, Martin, Louis and Gina – and bought some gear where we had to.
As for looking for corporate sponsors… there was no time.
Below is a little more information on what we are taking on our Cycle LEJOG. We will be taking tent and sleeping bags to camp as much as possible on the way up and use the Warm Showers Network and Hotels/Hostels only when we have to.
