The team

2200 kilometres.

2 paddleboarders turned hikers.

1 mission.

To be the first pair to walk back after paddling the length of Britain – from Land’s End to John o’Groats – whilst raising over £24,000 for Charity.

The people

Our team

Due to a combination of finances and the expedition being in the middle of Winter when support crews are difficult to find, Dave and Sophie are going it alone.

Two people, no support vehicle, and everything carried on their back. Read their profiles below.

the crazy guy

Fresh from his successful LEJOG paddle, Dave is hiking back.

Dave Chant has visited 50 countries, walked across Spain and climbed 2 of the Seven Summits – the highest points on each continent – namely Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua reaching heights of 7000metres. Previously he has trekked in the Annapurna and Everest regions of Nepal.

Planned attempts in 2020 on three of the other Seven Summits – Denali in Alaska, Elbrus in Europe and Puncak Jaya in Oceania – have been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. An attempt on Everest is also pending in 2023.

As well as a keen hiker, he has spent 6 Winters living in the mountains of Italy and loves to ski. Paddleboarding has become an increasing passion of his since starting on a board in the Summer of 2020.

He has finished his recent job in TV Production to spend 4 months preparing and taking on SUP It & Sea.

the crazy girl

Fresh from her successful LEJOG paddle, Sophie is hiking back.

Sophie has the privileged role of learning about peoples lives and experiences in her role as a Celebrant. A position that is always fascinating, it is a calling that has given her even more appreciation for the fantastic experiences that life has to offer and allows her the flexibility to enjoy her passions of hiking, swimming and Paddleboarding on a regular basis.

After initially taking up Paddleboarding on a whim, it soon became a passion, or some may say an obsession of Sophie’s as well as a healthy coping mechanism.

After many years following other adventures, SUP It & Sea will be her first expedition with further ones already percolating behind the scenes, including one that combines her love of hiking and paddling.

Sophie’s Motto: Just Try
